ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS: Non rotating 40 hour work week, Monday
Friday, 8:00 am
5:00 pm. Must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities
Intake, process, identify, store, track, audit, and destroy drug evidence seized by the Corpus Christi Police Department.
On a daily basis, process the contents of the narcotics drop box or any other narcotic evidence from the police department and document findings in official report.
Examine drug evidence packages received, identify and classify contents, weigh and conduct simple chemical test on suspected drugs contained within, repackage, and deposit in appropriate storage location.
Document contents, weigh and conduct chemical filed test on items contained in each drug evidence package that was received.
Actions taken on drug evidence such as: out of lab, in from lab, out to court, in from court, released to other agency, etc.… In the CCPD computerized records management system.
Transport drug evidence to and from DPS lab, as well as District, County and Federal courts.
Conduct periodic audits of the drug evidence vault.
Prepare monthly and annual reports of all drugs seized by the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Research narcotic cases to determine if narcotics evidence is still required for court.
Assist with destruction process of unneeded drugs.
Provide expert testimony in District, County and Federal courts.
May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requires an Associate's Degree
Minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience
A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered
A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
Closing Statement
Selected applicants must be able to pass a background investigation and a pre-employment drug test.
Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
