Administers aerosol therapy, chest physical therapy and arterial blood gas punctures. Maintains the patency of patient airways, newborn through adults, and performs endotracheal intubation. Manages patients on ventilators, Bipap and Cpap machines. Conducts respiratory assessments and confers with physicians to assist in planning therapy. Teaches and demonstrates respiratory care activities to patients and their representatives. May be cross trained to provide additional care at McLaren Bay Special Care's Ventilator Unit.


  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Therapy

  • Must have an active Michigan Respiratory Therapist License

  • Must maintain RRT credentials

  • Must have or will successfully complete the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within twelve (12) months of hire date or transfer (May not apply to Per-diems)

  • CPR issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross Certification
