SCHEDULE: 0.9 (36 hours per week) SHIFT: Nights with rotating weekends.
Under general supervision, provides advanced respiratory care services, including more complex and/or non-routine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures designed to evaluate, stabilize, prevent or remedy patient cardiopulmonary and neurologic problems. Acts as a clinical resource person and team leader to respiratory therapists and students.
Meets and exceeds all performance expectations for respiratory care required by an RT II. Is required to complete all competencies, duties & responsibilities as defined for RT III and complete 15 CEUs on an annual basis. Functions as a member of the Charge, NICU or ICU team. Participation in neonatal ground transportation is required for this position.
Current California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License.
Current Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider Course.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Provider.
Completion of a two year AMA approved course in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent upgrade program.
Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care
Two year of full-time, progressively more responsible work experience.
Ability to learn and utilize computerized patient care management system.
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Must effectively read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.
