JOB SUMMARY# Drawing and analysis of arterial blood gases, patient assessment, Therapist Driven Protocols continuous mechanical ventilator management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, chest physical therapy, oxygen administration, hyperinflation therapy, aerosol therapy, and screening Pulmonary function studies, performance of emergency procedures, CPR certification, teamwork, maintaining keen interest in latest trends, pulse oxymetry, changing equipment (and if applicable charge duties- to include work distribution prioritizing workload for staff, presentation of one topic per year to the Respiratory Therapy staff). Performs all documentation activities as outlined for charge on documentation policy/procedure to include EMR, Cardex, and treatment cards. Essential Functions

Distributes workload
Addresses interdepartmental and departmental issues
Develops RT schedules
Provide educational in-services
Interviews RT applicants
Addresses interdepartmental issues
Performs Pulmonary Function testing
Performs direct patient care, providing all modes of Respiratory therapy, as needed
Performs analysis of respiratory testing results
Maintains, orders and stores RT supplies
Performs CPR as needed
Communicates with patients, peers and coworkers
Performs arterial blood gas procedures and analysis
Provides care for patients of all ages, including critical care and emergent patients
Documents therapy using the electronic medical record
