As a day shift Respiratory Therapist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, you will perform general ward therapy RT procedures including: 02 therapy, bland aerosol therapy, medicinal aerosol therapy, volume expansion therapy, bronchial hygiene procedures, CPR.
A Per Diem Critical Care Respiratory Therapist manages Adult Ventilator Systems including setup/management of continuous invasive and non-invasive ventilator systems, specialty gases, and related monitoring adjuncts. Training in and performance of Arterial Puncture for Blood Gas Analysis is required.
A Per Diem Critical Care Respiratory Therapist may pursue additional training in "subspecialty services" including: Management of Perinatal/Pediatric Ventilator Systems and related adjuncts; Bronchoscopy Assist; Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center RT procedures; RT Order Entry System Operation.
Once training is complete, a Per Diem Respiratory Therapist is expected to function as assigned in the subspecialty areas in which he/she has been trained and adjudged functionally competent. Must be available to work at least 8 shifts, to include at least 1 weekend, in every 6-week work schedule period.

Requirements:
Educational Requirements:
Graduate of 2-year AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy
California Respiratory Practitioner license.
Registered Respiratory Therapist.
BLS certification.
Experience:
2 years' experience preferred. Respiratory Ward Therapy and Critical Care.
Physical Demands:
Perform 1 & 2 person CPR. Lift and carry 25 lbs.
Move a H-size gas cylinder-and-cart as well as the departmental life support systems over hospital floor surfaces. Able to physically roll a 200 lb. horizontally positioned patient. Auditory and visual capabilities for responding to cardio-pulmonary monitoring systems.
Mathematics skills necessary for clinical functions. Oral and written communication skills sufficient for understanding and being understood by the members of health care team.
