OverviewThe Therapeutic Specialist will be responsible for achieving and maximizing territory and account sales goals through profit focused account management, high level clinical proficiency and effective selling. ResponsibilitiesThe Therapeutic Specialist will be the primary point of contact from Sunovion with key decision makers and physicians across functional business channels.

This would include hospitals, retail sales other market channels relevant to business needs. The Therapeutic Specialist will be responsible for complying with all legal and regulatory compliance requirements established by Sunovion and governing the sale and promotion of its pharmaceutical products. QualificationsCandidate must possess significant customer knowledge and understand the business channels and the business needs of each target within their defined territory (quality improvement, patient care demographics, protocols, reimbursement). The candidate must be able to facilitate relevant discussions on the clinical and economic benefits of Sunovion promoted products and work closely with sales, marketing, OCG and leadership to present consistent data to the customer.

The candidate must also possess advanced account management skills including but not limited to: leadership, communication, negotiation and influence. This position requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or life sciences (MBA a plus), 3+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including account management, hospital sales, and demonstrated mastery of Respiratory/Pulmonary or other specialty disease state knowledge preferred. Knowledge of reimbursement channels is essential.

Candidates must have excellent presentation & organizational skills and be proficient with a PC (PowerPoint, Word, Excel and sales force automation systems). Travel within territory required may include both car and air travel depending upon territory. Some national travel to corporate headquarters, training and sales meetings may also be required on a periodic basis. Work hours may include meetings scheduled outside of normal working hours.

Assists clinical operations (e.g. training, investigator relations, and primary team contact). Provides oversight and support to the Therapeutic Expertise group with regard to patient recruitment, investigator relations, global feasibility, site identification and corporate study experience. Responsible for the review of Request for Proposals (RFPs) and the triage and assignment of appropriate Therapeutic Expertise experts in cooperation with the leads in Scientific Affairs, Medical Affairs, Feasibility, and Patient Access as well as Investigator Relations. Works in a multidisciplinary team to ensure that the appropriate strategies are employed to identify countries/sites most appropriate to successfully accrue proposed clinical trials. * Assists with or is responsible for the review of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to identify and assigns appropriate Therapeutic Expertise staff to ensure appropriate oversight and scientific and medical input. * Assists with or is responsible for the initial assessment of new RFPs to ensure that all of the appropriate Therapeutic Expertise staff are identified and included in the proposal process. * Assists Senior Director/Executive Director/Vice President (VP) to ensure that each RFP is evaluated with the appropriate Therapeutic Expertise staff (Therapeutic Experts, Scientific Affairs Experts, Feasibility Staff, Investigator Relations, Patient Access and Infectious Diseases Research Center), to determine if the proposed geographic regions can support the proposed RFP. * Assists with or is responsible to coordinate global outreach of appropriate Therapeutic Expertise staff and therapeutic experts to provide key strategic content for RFP documents. * Participates in developing new and existing business by monitoring and researching corporate pharmaceutical and biotech pipelines and providing data to therapeutic experts and appropriate business development staff. * Contributes to identifying, prioritizing, and targeting clients and prospective clients. * Develops and maintains long-term professional relationships with relevant personnel in targeted client accounts through regular contact. * Responsible for working with the management team in Therapeutic Expertise to monitor overall utilization rates, billable hours, revenue and expenses. * Assists with closing new strategic business opportunities. * Interacts with clients and participates in client meetings as necessary to support and maintain new business. * Trains study teams (therapeutic and protocol specific training). * Works in a multidisciplinary effort with the assigned team to provide strategic input to ensure the successful site selection, country selection and patient accrual for proposed and awarded clinical trials. * Ensures that all administrative responsibilities and reporting requirements are carried out in a timely fashion and according to company policies. * Substantial pharmaceutical industry or contract research organization experience including project leadership and interaction with therapeutic and medical experts. * A bachelor degree required. Doctoral degree level education (MD, PhD or equivalent) in a discipline relevant for therapeutic product development from an accredited institution and commensurate experience is preferred. * Management experience, including functional department responsibilities is preferred. * Read, write and speak English; fluent in host country language required. * Substantial functional/technical experience in a global therapeutic product development environment is required. * International clinical development experience is required. * Knowledge of business databases and data analysis and the ability to interpret and present such data. * Knowledge of the global drug development process. * Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills Legal Statement: To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.
