Part Time Benefit Eligible, Variable Hours Responsible and accountable for cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing equipment and supplies for the Respiratory Care Department. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting for equipment (e.g., filter checks, circuit, etc.). Escalate malfunctioning equipment needs to BioMed or other designated personnel as necessary. Distribution of E medical gas cylinders to designated storage areas.

Required Qualifications:
High school education or equivalent required. Ability to work independently required. Ability to work a flexible schedule and hours required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing respiratory care equipment preferred. Acceptance into a Respiratory Therapy accredited program preferred. Ability to process and troubleshoot complex medical equipment preferred. Knowledge of respiratory care equipment and procedures preferred. Data entry skills preferred. # #

Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations. 2. Assigns day-to-day work activities. Directs the functional and technical job performance of team members. 3. Allocate and direct staffing needs to meet patient, unit, and departmental needs, and collaborate with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met. 4. Manage performance by: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback and recognition, developing skills, and addressing performance issues related to work and CHI Health commitments using corrective action. 5. Assists in developing departmental action plans and makes recommendations to the Director for training and staff development. Monitors productivity to ensure appropriate utilization of staff. Maintains required records, reports, and statistics for regulatory and budgetary purposes. 6. Provides direct patient care while assessing the patient's needs and response to therapy; and assists staff in performing the same. Provides timely and necessary communication to hospital staff and providers as appropriate to assist in provision of optimal patient care. 7. Provides technical guidance and assists with skill development for staff in all procedures considering the patient's age, cognitive/physical abilities, and developmental needs as necessary in order to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of patient care. 8. Participates in developing & implementing departmental policies and procedures. Assists Director with quality assurance programs for the department and provides recommendations as needed. Communicates all concerns to Director. 9. Participates in clinical/didactic education of Respiratory Therapy students, new hires and is accountable for personal and professional growth to maintain competency and meet system/department requirements. 10. Provides advanced level care and education to patients in accordance with the Advance Practitioner Program and as delineated within the practitioner's scope of practice. Requirements: Graduate of an AMA approved, college based program of Respiratory Therapy.
