The Respiratory Development Supervisor will be primarily responsible for the oversight and supervision of the clinical expertise, orientation, training and development for staff in the Pulmonary Department. She/he has extended experience and clinical expertise in the care of critically ill patients.
She/he prioritizes, plans, develops, implements and evaluates development activities to assist staff in attaining and maintaining the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve competence in job expectations to improve the quality of patient care. The components and defining characteristics of the position include advanced clinical practice, the application of leadership skills, effectiveness in the consulting role, effectiveness as an educator and mentor, and ability to contribute to research and the professional development of self and others and functions as a respiratory practitioner serving as a role model for clinical practice behaviors. She/he is knowledgeable regarding standards of care and current practices in the critical care environment and stays up to date on evidence-based practices to ensure Sunrise Hospital and Sunrise Children's Hospital stays current in practice.
Promotes collaboration with physicians and personnel of other departments; demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to complex patients served. Additionally, demonstrates knowledge of principles of adult, pediatric and neonatal education, growth and development over the life span, possesses the ability to assess and interpret data. This Respiratory Development Supervisor is also responsible for the maintenance of all appropriate records and reports to include department education activities as well as continuing quality improvement of the Cardiopulmonary Department.

Required Job Qualifications include:
Bachelor's Degree required
Greater than five years' experience as a Critical Care RRT with NICU Level III/PICU with cardiac surgery experience.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are required.
Licensed, as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Nevada is required. Nevada license to perform arterial blood gases.
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP for Healthcare Professionals. Instructor for all certifications within 1 year of hire. Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) credential required.
