Chilton Medical Center, a member of Atlantic Health System, is seeking a Full time Respiratory Care Practitioner. Days, 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. and every other weekend.
- Follows standards of clinical procedures and protocols. Appropriately administers respiratory and oxygen therapies via departmental policies and protocols.
Evaluates patient s clinical status, reviews chart and performs respiratory assessment as per departmental policies and protocols. Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry and recommends appropriate changes. Performs, records, and takes appropriate action when performing quality control procedures on co-oximetry analyzers.
Performs bedside spirometry, weaning parameters, pulse oximetry and capnography analysis. Follows departmental equipment changing schedule and sterilization procedures. Fulfills the requirements of assigned units/areas based on guidelines.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the department manager. Demonstrates an ability to perform Pulmonary Function: Testing. Age Specific Competencies: Assesses the patient s age specific psychosocial, safety and educational needs.Job Function:
- Demonstrates ability to initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation as per departmental policies and protocols. Provides adequate ventilation and monitoring of intubated patients during transport . Assesses patient for weaning on a daily basis Recommends and/or initiates changes in ventilator modalities and oxygen concentration.
Monitors cardiopulmonary status, precautions, and complications during bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, and intubation. Recommends, sets-up, and monitors BIPAP and CPAP mask therapy. Troubleshoots ventilator malfunctions.
Age Specific Competencies: Assesses and initiates appropriate ventilatory settings according to weight, size, age, diagnosis, etc
03. Demonstrates proficiency in performing airway management. Performs endotracheal intubation. Establishes and maintains a patent airway. Performs tracheostomy care. Provides postural drainage, chest physical therapy and airway suctioning. Performs and/or assists staff with CPR and other emergency situations. Age Specific Competencies: Uses appropriate equipment related to age, size, weight based upon CPR training
As defined by Occupational Safety/OMSRequired Education and/or Experience: Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy ProgramAAS preferred
Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner New Jersey State Board of Respiratory CareCRT required, RRT preferred.BLS certified required
