The Respiratory Care Practitioner / Respiratory Therapist / RCP is responsible for:
Performing routine therapy, diagnostic and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures for patients
Maintaining all equipment in working order
Providing phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing for the patient population as required
Having knowledge of all modalities of respiratory care
Having the ability to interact well and provide instruction and information, both orally and in written form to patients, family and staff
The Respiratory Care Practitioner / Respiratory Therapist / RCP must:
Be certified to practice respiratory care by the Department of Health for the state in which the facility is located
Possess and maintain current ACLS and CPR certifications
Have at least one year of experience in mechanical ventilatory support, EKG performance, ABG puncture and analysis
Experience in critical care preferred
