Responsibilities

The Respiratory Care Practitioner / Respiratory Therapist / RCP is responsible for:

  • Performing routine therapy, diagnostic and emergency cardiopulmonary procedures for patients

  • Maintaining all equipment in working order

  • Providing phlebotomy and basic laboratory testing for the patient population as required

  • Having knowledge of all modalities of respiratory care

  • Having the ability to interact well and provide instruction and information, both orally and in written form to patients, family and staff

Qualifications

The Respiratory Care Practitioner / Respiratory Therapist / RCP must:

  • Be certified to practice respiratory care by the Department of Health for the state in which the facility is located

  • Possess and maintain current ACLS and CPR certifications

  • Have at least one year of experience in mechanical ventilatory support, EKG performance, ABG puncture and analysis

  • Experience in critical care preferred

VIEW JOBS 5/26/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-08-24T00:00 Overview Registered Nurse - Dialysis Dialysis Nurses are responsible for overseeing dialysis treatments required by patients suffering from acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians. Responsibilities * Checking and recording patients' vitals before, during, and after dialysis treatment.• Primes dialyzer and bloodlines. • Ensuring that hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis treatments are administered to patients correctly.• Monitoring patients during dialysis treatment to identify any adverse reactions.• Oversees the dialysis treatment from start to finish. • Cannulates accesses and cleans and dresses permanent and temporary catheters.• Secures, analyzes, and reports lab work. • Preparing and updating nursing care plans.• Promptly notifying the appropriate medical practitioner of any problems that occur during dialysis treatments.• Working with the Dialysis Technicians to ensure that dialysis machines and equipment are set up/cleaned correctly.• Teaching patients and their family members how to operate home dialysis machines should they decide on home dialysis therapy.• Educating patients on dialysis treatment options, kidney disease management, as well as suitable nutrition and exercise regimens.• Performs other position-related duties as assigned, depending on assignment setting. Qualifications Education and Training: * State license to practice nursing.• Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required.• Proven experience working as a Dialysis Nurse.• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred but not required.
