Respiratory Care Assistant

JOB RELATIONSHIPS Responsible to licensed Charge Respiratory Therapist and Cardiopulmonary Services Director or designee. DEFINITION OF POSITION A Respiratory Care Assistant (RCA) is responsible for evaluating and implementing the respiratory care of assigned patients. QUALIFICATIONS Professional Must be an actively enrolled student in good standing of an accredited respiratory care program and maintaining a minimum grade of 2.0 in all RCP courses. Active registration in State of NC as Respiratory Care Assistant. Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification. Working Conditions Generally comfortable surroundings. Extensive walking and standing. Variable work hours expected (4-12 shifts). Exposure to infectious diseases. Exposure to radiation Moderate noise. Exposure to air borne particles. Exposure to caustic chemicals Risk of electrical shock.
