Position Purpose Under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Supervisor, the incumbent will help facilitate the job of the Respiratory Care Practitioners, Supervisors, and Nursing staff.#This position is responsible for transporting of equipment, clerical responsibilities, ordering and stocking of respiratory care supplies, maintenance and sterilization of various respiratory equipment including adult and pediatric bronchoscopes.#Servicing respiratory therapists and nurses regarding requests pertaining to respiratory and oxygen equipment throughout the entire hospital. # Nature and Scope The incumbent is in frequent contact with Respiratory Care staff and nursing personnel. The position requires stocking and clerical responsibilities.#The incumbent will have daily contact with nurses, therapists, physicians, visitors and other hospital employees and occasional contact with patients during the transporting of equipment.
The incumbent has the freedom to make decisions regarding levels of stock to be maintained, and the ordering of supplies for the designated locations.#Status of non-stock supplies (disposable or non-disposable) and any defects in equipment should be brought to the attention of the supervisor or director for ordering and repairs. The major challenges to this position are to meet the demands of several critical areas at once (i.e., process bronchoscopy cart, oxygen delivery, transporting of respiratory equipment, and assisting Therapists) while maintaining usual services.#Additionally, the RC Aide must assure proper decontamination of equipment and supplies in accordance with Renown Health policies.
