VIEW JOBS 4/6/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-05T00:00 Overview The Resource Support Specialist provides support to ensure Santa Clara County (SCC) Resource Families have access to needed resources in order to stabilize and maintain children in their homes. This position will support (1) newly licensed resource families and (2) resource families with foster children who are currently receiving services from DFCS and are placed in out-of-home care. All services will be provided in a manner that best meets the needs of the resource family. These services will be made available to resource families from the time of their license and throughout any period of placement, as needed. Responsibilities * Provide in-person and telephonic support to resource families as needed during pre-placement, initial placement, on-going placement and post-placement * Provide support and education to resource parents related to Juvenile Dependency Court proceedings * Educate other community agencies regarding the needs of resource families * Facilitate communication between resource families and DFCS staff * Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local laws related to foster and adoptive parents and licensing criteria and policies * Meet regularly with DFCS staff to address issues related to supporting resource families and maintaining stable placements * Meet regularly with other team members to coordinate services * Outreach to resource families, offering support services assessing needs, and making referrals as appropriate * Any additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Director of Programs Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or other related field * Bilingual Preferred * Obtain fingerprint clearances with the DOJ and FBI in addition to other regulatory requirements * At least 21 yrs. old * Own vehicle, California driver's license, insurance, clean driving record * Ability to successfully engage with families * Strong writing, organizational, and computer skills * Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Schedule * Flexible schedule required, with the ability to work some evening and weekend hours as needed * Participate in On-Call Crisis Response 24 hour shifts on a rotating basis Benefits * Competitive salary * Comprehensive employee benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and chiropractic coverage, as well as partially paid premiums for dependents. * Employer-paid Employee Assistance Plan * Scholarship opportunities, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities * 4 weeks of flexible Paid Time Off * We provide a 403b retirement plan Seneca Center San Jose CA
