As a Resource Management Specialist, here are some of the duties you will perform:
You will be responsible for coordinating a variety of staffing and related functions to ensure proper and adequate coverage of inspection assignments for the district.
You will serve as a liaison with the Human Resources Operations Division (HROD) on recruitment for new or vacant positions.
You will be responsible for providing information to union officials and representatives of employment organizations regarding staffing and related issues.
You will coordinate training activities for the district.
As needed you may assist in the development of budget and/or hiring projections for the district.
You will be responsible for administering leave scheduling for inspection personnel and for monitoring time and attendance reports.
Occasional travel - Travel to off-site conferences and training events

If you are newly hired, the documentation you present for purposes of completing the Department Homeland Security (DHS) Form I-9 on your entry-on-duty date will be verified through the DHS "E-VERIFY" system. Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.
Time in grade:
Applicants must meet one year at the next lower grade to be considered for the next higher grade (e.g. one year at the GS-07 grade level for consideration for the GS-09 grade level.)
For the GS-07 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 level) that demonstrates the duties listed below:
Assisting in researching and interpreting basic regulations and guides;
Assisting in development of staffing reports;
Answering routine inquiries from the field and customers on personnel, and management issues;
Personnel management and files / records management experience
Maintaining, coordinating calendars and events;
Compiling and assembling data, creating and maintaining spreadsheets, personnel, training, leave, staffing or other administrative requirements;
Applicants can also qualify at the GS-7 level via education in one of the ways listed below:
1 full year of graduate level education

For the GS-09 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-07 level) that demonstrates the duties listed below:
Researching inquiries and providing guidance and advisory services to customers at multiple levels related to staffing;
Maintaining Personnel management and files / records management;
Coordinating training events and providing input or recommendations for training requirements;
Researching and interpreting basic regulations and guides; assisting in the development of staffing reports; assisting in providing services to customers at multiple levels related to staffing;
Applicants can qualify at the GS-9 level via education in one of the ways listed below:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree;
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such degree;
LL.B. or J.D., if related;
