The incumbent performs technical and administrative duties in support of timber sales, agreements, and various permits.

Performs a technical review of timber sale packages to assure that they are in proper format and technically accurate. Audits the automated timber accounting system by monitoring statements of account and input as required by the Timber Sale Accounting System.
Recommends as final audit of timber sale contracts before closing. Processes purchaser road credits on Timber Sale Accounting System.
Ensures that performance and surety bonds required by permits are for the proper amounts and for the time periods specified by the permits. May perform any of the following:
Provides general clerical support to the office staff. Prepares travel advances for approval.
Computes travel vouchers and submits documents for signature, approval and payment. Reviews personal property documents involving acquisitions, transfer or disposal of items that are required to be of record.
Performs timekeeping duties are required. Greets visitors and answers the telephone.
Occasional travel - Occassional travel is required for meetings and training.

GS-5: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 grade level; Or a bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school and/or combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours} and experience.
Examples of specialized experience are: Inputting and auditing data processing documents; checking accounting documents to ensure all volumes, payments received, etc.; reviewing permit updates for payments, errors, and negative cash action; and maintaining log load receipt manifests and other timber files.
GS-6: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level.
Examples of specialized experience are: Performed technical review of timber sale packages. Followed established controls to ensure that timber collection revenues/deposits are billed, collected, and deposited to proper accounts.
Maintained permit folders, computed fees, and coordinated annual billings and delinquent payments with permit administrators. Applied knowledge of several types of software such as spreadsheets, templates, databases, word processing documents, publishing and graphics applications to generate specific working documents and forms. Audited scale records or tree measurement tally sheets and performed the correction of scale tickets and final corrections to the edit files.
