Job Summary

The residential staff member will assist the Residence Manager and Director with activities during residential camps for the Center for STEM+eXcellence. The successful candidate will be receive training and gain semi-independent knowledge of the job. This position does involve the application of moderate skills and require organizational trust and great responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will typically involve assisting the Resident Manager and Residence Director in implementing program needs for residential programs. successful candidates will possess technical competence, and a moderate degree of independent judgment and responsibility for tasks such as interacting with program participants, preparing reports or spreadsheets, and conducting safety assessments. This position requires a moderate level of contact with internal and external customers. The ability to work as a team member is necessary. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Mau support all Center for STEM+eXcellence staff during programs.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a current MSU student

• Must maintain satisfactory academic progress

• Must feel comfortable performing tasks that are not routine, but rather are more complex in nature

• Must have the ability to understand and to follow written and verbal instructions

• Must be able to work somewhat independently utilizing initiative and a moderate level of judgment, analytical and/or decision-making skills

• Must be able to operate a variety of office equipment such as copier, telephone, etc.

• Must be able to handle stress as well as to react quickly in emergency situations
