The TPO Residential Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for evaluating mortgage loan applications submitted by Third Party Originators and Non-Delegated Correspondents for compliance with FNMA/FHLMC, government, investor and CenterState/SouthState's underwriting guidelines. The underwriter will decision the loan application accordingly and communicate directly to the appropriate parties.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Analyze loan applications, credit history, income and asset documents to ensure loans meet program and product specifications.
Review appraisals to determine acceptability of collateral.
Work directly with Broker/Correspondent, Account Executive and Loan Coordinator to answer any loan specific underwriting questions, discuss conditions and loan documentation.
Review and clear conditions in a timely manner.
Maintain working knowledge of agency and investor guidelines and policies.
Assist with resolution of any post-closing, insuring and audit reviews.
Consistently meet or exceed established minimum productivity levels.

OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 2 years recent residential mortgage underwriting experience.
Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA and USDA policies and guidelines.
Ability to manage pipeline daily while meeting monthly production and quality goals.
Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
Work effectively in a fast paced, team environment.
