The work:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while making sound credit decisions with attention to detail.

  • Perform income, credit, title and property analysis on Home Equity loan files submitted within the time frame established by departmental management.

  • Examine loan documents and loan processing system for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all required documents and conditions are received.

  • Perform timely reviews of conditions submitted a well as loan resubmissions.

  • Maintain quality and production standards as defined by business.

  • Provides exemplary customer service to both internal staff and external customer by clearly explaining credit decision and offering alternative options when needed.

  • Adequately and effectively explain in written and verbal form the decision reached in a manner that will maintain a positive relationship with all customers.

  • Actively cooperate and interact with all entities of the client. Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Learn more about this agency Responsibilities As a Senior Mortgage Banking Analyst, you will: * Plan and conduct comprehensive projects, studies and analyses of mortgage-Backed Securities, the management of the monitoring and asset management program, and a wide range of varied user issues. * Serve as team leader of a monitoring team, which is Ginnie Mae's point of contact for a portfolio of issuers. * Develop and manage the key monitoring and compliance frame work for issuers, services and document custodians. Ginnie Mae is a wholly owned government corporation created to help expand homeownership opportunities for low and moderate-income Americans, by linking global capital markets to the nation's housing markets. The Monitoring and Asset Management Division, Office of issuer and Portfolio Management monitors Ginnie Mae securities issuers, servicers, and custodians to ensure that those program participants present the least possible risk to Ginnie Mae. The official duty station for this position will be in Washington, DC. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: * Working with mortgage backed securities, including mortgage loan servicing, originations, and document custody practices and procedures; AND * Monitoring and surveillance methodologies to evaluate and assess the performance of mortgage issuers, servicers and document custodians; AND * Utilizing compliance and risk management protocols for mortgage backed securities programs; AND * Serving as a lead or key contact for a monitoring, compliance or servicing team, project or process. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
