Position Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing support to the Residential lending servicing team. Primary responsibilities include booking of loans and modification agreements, payment processing, outgoing wires for loans, and follow up/tracking and scanning of final closing documents, as well as other duties requested by Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform scanning of all documents related to loan booking and any other necessary documents.

  • Book portfolio real estate loans on core system and review for accuracy at booking.

  • Modify existing loans and review for accuracy upon completion.

  • Complete outgoing wires for loans.

  • Ensure final title policy and deeds of trust are received in a timely manner and review for accuracy.

  • Scan Real Estate residential loan files.

  • Offer loan assistance as needed; provide payment calculations and payoff quotes in accordance with the Bank's policies and procedures.

  • Process loan payments

  • Initiate and submit wires for approval for closings.

  • Answer incoming calls and group servicing e-mails.

  • Assist in the preparation of certificate of satisfaction for release on Promissory Notes, Deeds of Trust, and collateral on all paid out Real Estate loans.

  • Exercise discretion and make sound decisions by through problems, procedures now and demonstrate VCB's Mission Statement.

  • Maintain an open line of communication reviewing alternative solutions and modifying decisions when necessary. Delegate decision making to appropriate staff when applicable.

  • Provide support by assisting co-workers and other departments with customer needs and requests.

  • Uphold the Company's image as a strong and responsible corporate citizen.

  • Perform other tasks and training as requested by supervisors as they relate to the residential lending department.

  • Comply with the requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and be proactive in the prevention and detection of money laundering, terrorism and other illegal activity.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

This position reports to the Mortgage Servicing Manager.

Requirements

Education and Certifications:

  • High School Diploma

Skills:

  • Knowledge of accounting processes and reconciliation of GL accounts.

  • Working knowledge of banking operations, its products, services.

  • Strong computer skills relevant to Microsoft Office Suites (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong decision-making/problem resolution skills.

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and math skills, organizational skills, and customer service skills.

  • Effective verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language required.

  • Experience within Banking or similar field.

Abilities:

  • Ability to learn bank programed software.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with accounts while providing exceptional customer service.

  • Ability to work all branch hours, remote or in office, including weekend and evenings.

  • Ability to work within a team environment.

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence, and/or journals, or government regulations.

  • Ability to deal directly with the public, on the phone or face to face, following the Bank's Customer Service Standards.
