Middlesex Federal Savings is seeking a Residential Loan Officer to assist customers with residential lending needs, including the origination of all residential mortgages and home equity lines of credit (HELOC). Residential Loan Officers will work with loan processing, underwriting, secondary market participants and closing operations to ensure an efficient loan approval and closing process. Residential Loan Officers are expected to execute an outreach program in an effort to develop referral sources and networks in an effort to develop business within the Bank's lending area. Residential Loan Officers are to perform all functions according to the Bank's established policies and procedures, and comply with all federal and state laws and regulations, including but not limited to Fair Lending.
Originates residential mortgages and HELOCs, assists clients with completion of loan applications and obtains required supporting documentation
Develops new relationships within the Bank's lending area to build a lead and referral source
Assists the underwriter and/or processor in obtaining information and documentation needed to make a lending decision
Maintains updated knowledge regarding loan products, lending regulation and investor requirements to act as a knowledge base for clients
Attends periodic compliance, secondary market, training, sales and/or origination seminars and programs
Actively promotes interests in the Bank
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with branches and other Bank departments
Maintains working knowledge of legal principles and documents related to job performance
Keeps abreast of computer software programs used by the Bank
Additional duties and responsibilities as the need arises
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree preferred or experience commensurate with same
NMLS registration required
Three to five years' progressive mortgage lending experience
Proven ability to develop and foster relationships
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work as part of a collaborative environment
Strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong computer, interpersonal, and organizational skills
High level of professional maturity and demeanor
Goal oriented self-starter with the ability and desire to work independently within the scope of established guidelines
Familiarity with DU and LP underwriting engines
Maintains a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle to meet with clients
Demonstrates professional, positive and productive attitude with clients and colleagues; acts in a manner consistent with the Bank's motto, "We're here to help".
