Respond to departmental moving needs: assemble and set-up furniture; pick-up and deliver furniture, appliances and supplies; safely use appropriate moving equipment and safe lifting techniques; and operate cube moving truck. Clean, maintain, and organize departmental furniture storage rooms and maintain inventory of furniture.
Perform small equipment maintenance and snow removal. Under the supervision of the Facilities Projects Coordinator and the direction of the Moving Coordinator, support and promote a safe and healthy community life in which to live, learn and work.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High School education and one year related experience required. Ability to read, write and speak basic English required.
Must be able to lift and move/carry 100 lbs. Valid driver's license or ability to obtain and driver's check may be required to drive departmental cube truck. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and ability to perform safe lifting techniques and safe use of furniture moving equipment required.
Knowledge of computer applications such as e-mail and spreadsheets required. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of physical screening required. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and fostering a collaborative multicultural environment required.
Supervisory experience desirable.
