Position Summary:

The Residential Life and Deputy Title IX Coordinator (RLC) is responsible for the overall experience of all residential students, consisting of 330 residents in six residence halls (1 traditional building, 4 mansions, and an apartment complex). The RLC is expected to positively enhance and enrich the quality of life of students through community building, educational and social programming, and interactions while enforcing college policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment. The RLC directly supervises 2 Graduate level Assistant Residential Life Coordinators (ARLCs), indirectly supervises 12-14 Resident Assistants (RAs), and provides requisite training and professional development. Additionally, the RLC serves as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for the college. As the Deputy Title IX Coordinator, the RLC partners with the Assistant Dean of Students & Title IX Coordinator to respond to issues regarding Title IX. The Deputy will assist with Title IX workshops and presentations for the campus community, including training for mandatory reporters. This position reports to the Associate Director of Residential Life and Community Standards.

This is a 12-month, live-in position. It includes a meal plan when Albertus Magnus College's dining services are open, a partially furnished one-bedroom apartment, free reserved parking, free laundry facilities, and professional development opportunities.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists with the residential community's overall operations, including working with facilities, managing the general housing email account, and moving in/moving out.

  • Provide enthusiastic support to prospective and current residents and their families.

  • Indirectly supervise 12-14 undergraduate paraprofessionals (Resident Assistants)

  • Directly supervise, develop, evaluate, and support 2 professional Graduate-level Assistant Residential Life Coordinators.

  • Maintain a visible presence in residence halls and on campus, including regular contact with residents and RAs

  • Act as a referral agent, providing basic counseling and crisis management interventions with students, educating and referring them to campus resources.

  • Assist in the facilitation and coordination of programming and community building in the residence halls.

  • Plan and implement recruitment, selection, training, and evaluations of RA staff.

  • Plan and help implement recruitment, selection, training and evaluation of ARLC staff.

  • Serve on a year-round on-call duty rotation, responding to campus emergencies and crisis situations within residence halls.

  • Serve as Student Conduct Officer for lower-level policy violations.

  • Assist in providing housing coverage during breaks and preseason athletics.

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of special college events.

  • Assist the Title IX Coordinator in managing Title IX reports and student outreach.

  • Advise individuals with Title IX concerns, including the respondents, complainants, or third parties in pending investigations, on topics related to reporting options and resources available.

  • Develop and facilitate innovative programming for the College community in collaboration with other departments in the division.

  • Remains knowledgeable of the current state and federal laws, regulations, and trends in the field of education related to harassment and other discriminatory practices that violate Title IX.

  • Participate in Title IX training, stay informed of reporting procedures, and assist with documenting formal reports.

  • Provide comprehensive, timely, trauma-informed response and support services to students, faculty, and staff reporting Title IX violations.

  • Serve on the Title IX Hearing Committee.

  • Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to end-of-year damage billing, Health and Safety inspections, and New Student Orientations.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Residential Life experience or Live-in On-Call experience preferred

  • Experience developing and/or implementing training programs or recruitment preferred

  • Previous supervisory and/or advising experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, and the Clery Act

Education:

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.

Work Schedule Requirements:

Some night and weekend hours will be required for on-call rotation and college-sponsored events.

Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-Time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees). The college is committed to work-life balance and has a summer schedule from June through August. We currently have 14 paid holidays, including a winter break.
