The role of the Residential Counselor is to provide the support needed to maximize the recipients successful integration into independent community living. Counselors provide support guidance and hands on assistance in learning and relearning skills of independent daily living, contact and instruction that promote wellness and recovery while offering structure, they offer coordination of services and are liaisons to other agencies.
RequirementsRequirements:Applicant must be able to work independently and as a team member. High School diploma, good oral and written communication skills, and computer skills a must. Associates degree in Human Services or a related field is preferred. Experience working with psychiatric disabled adults and knowledge of provider agencies in both Columbia & Greene Counties is a huge plus.
A clean, valid driver's license for three years is a must as is successful completion of our background check process (fingerprinting, Statewide Central Registry, etc).
