RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITATOR
The Monarch School and Institute is dedicated to providing an innovative, therapeutic education for individuals with neurological differencessuch as those associated with autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder, learning disabilities, Tourette syndrome, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, traumatic brain injury and seizure disorders. We offer a learner-centered approach that helps students progress in Four Core Goal areas.
The Residential Care Facilitator reports to and is supervised by the Director of Adult Community. Is scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 to 5. May also be scheduled for other non-major school holidays
REPORTS TO THE DIRECTOR OF ADULT COMMUNITY
High Diploma or GED Equivalent
Some college or course work in special education, occupational or physical therapies or related fields or any healthcare related certifications.
Valid Drivers License.
Incorporates the integration of the Monarch Levels System for identification, practice and document tracking of core objectives into the Residential Living Program.
Monitors and implements procedures for medication, health and safety. Demonstrates The Monarch School model of teaching with special emphasis on the development of students self-regulation, executive functioning, relational skills and academic competence.
Actively participates in the development of a mentally healthy school community.
Appropriately supervises students at all times.
Mentors/coaches students with particular emphasis on those areas indicated as most pivotal in the students targets and skills: includes but not limited to healthy lifestyle, physical fitness, meal planning/preparation, public transportation, etc.
Learns new curriculum models as directed.
Supports students therapeutic agenda with support.
Demonstrates cooperative team skills and considers teammates in all decisions.
Provides support with system of daily household responsibilities for Residential Services participants, including daily meals/snacks, cooking, cleaning, shopping, nutrition, laundry, organization, hygiene, etc.
Correlates employment skills within activities.
Assist in planning activities that incorporate learning opportunities and are enjoyable.
Attends activities and engages with the Residential Services participants.
Provides transportation to/from activities and/or employment when needed using company vehicles.
Occasionally lifts up to 40 pounds. Works in various environments that include outside activities as well as indoor activities and require bending, kneeling, stooping, and pulling/pushing, etc.
