Kilbarchan IRTS (Intensive Residential Treatment Service Unit) - Provides a secure, safe therapeutic environment for high-risk boys and girls, ages 14-17, with severe impairment of social functioning, behavioral challenges and mental health disorders.
Teacher Aide/Residential Assistant will be expected to provide positive support, caring assistance and responsible supervision. This position is expected to require a unique sensitivity on the part of the applicants to recognize and appropriately respond to clients who may have evidenced difficulties.
Duties include but not limited to: serve in a dual capacity by: (a) assisting school personnel with all aspects of classroom responsibilities and supervision of students during the school day; and (b) provide quality daily care and supervision of residential clients. As a member of a therapeutic treatment team, duties include becoming familiar with the residents' treatment goals, carrying out expected interventions, observation and documentation of success, along with identifying current or suggesting new, therapeutic goals which may require attention by the treatment team.
Work Schedule: Sat-Sun 3:00PM - 11:00PM Requirements Must be at least 21 years or older with a valid driver's license.
IRTS employees are required to have a Bachelor's degree.
One year of relevant full-time verifiable work experience in Mental Health, Human Services or related field working with children, adolescents; degree in social work, psychology, family counseling, or related field.
YCS - Kilbarchan IRTS, Paterson, NJ.
All new hires are required to attend a week orientation: Monday through Monday 8:45am-4:00pm, upon hire.
