Programs of service include an 87-bed, Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services licensed, Joint Commission accredited psychiatric residential treatment facility, a Partial Hospitalization Program, and a 40-bed acute psychiatric hospital. Our clinical department is currently welcoming a full-time Resident Therapist to assist our acute team Sunday-Thursday weekend premuim pay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides internal and external communication of psychotherapy services needed for transition to different levels of care and/or back into the community.

  • Attends all treatment team meetings for assigned patients.

  • Attends monthly administration supervision

  • Coordinates multifamily/group/family education groups as assigned.

  • Staff training as assigned

  • Completes all documentation within 24 hours of service being provided

  • Responds to crisis situations and manages patient behaviors in accordance with the Behavioral Management Program when needed.

  • Assists with the unit milieu to guide the development of acceptable habits and attitudes by consistently and fairly implementing the behavioral program, emphasizing good choices, and positive interactions.

  • Consistently follows the program schedule and implements all safety and security procedures.

  • Serve as a role model for patients.

  • Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the facility.

Location: Beautiful Leesburg, Virginia, 40 miles Northwest of Washington DC. Named one of the best places to live by Money magazine. 45-acre campus in a rural area on the northern edge of Leesburg with a gymnasium, beautiful outdoor campus and high ropes course. Excellent public school system.

Compensation package: Competitive salary. Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A combination of mental health experience and relevant education to deliver discharge planning services to consumers.

  • Consistent communication, collaboration and support with guardians and external treatment providers to assist with the establishment and communication of all needed transition and discharge services.

  • The required knowledge, skills, and abilities must be documented and observable in the application form and interview and can be verified by additional references.

  • Good verbal and written skills, ability to rotate shifts and units as necessary, and ability to maintain patients' confidentiality.

  • Knowledge of principles of psychology and child growth and development are also necessary.

  • Limit-setting, responding to children and adolescents in a caring, mature manner, while maintaining professional boundaries necessary.

  • Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job.

Education & Experience: Master's Degree in human services field.

Licensure: Not required, but preferred licensure with the applicable Virginia licensing body for LCSW, LPC, LMFT or Clinical Psychologist. Current driver's licensure.
