POSITION DUTIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Assists residents in identifying and accessing the appropriate social service agency within the community to help reduce barriers to their ability to seek out necessary support and prevent future crises. Acts as a social worker or case manager to facilitate getting and remaining connected to reliable City and community resources.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Position Specific Summary
The Resident Services Coordinator position at the City of Tucson's Department of Housing and Community Development provides direct resident services and case management at the Tucson House. The Resident Services Coordinator will ensure that public housing residents have access to comprehensive educational, employment, recreational, wellness, health, and social services resources.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Resident Services Supervisor. This position does not supervise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Program Services (45%) - Essential
Maintains a program case load and provides case management and service brokerage assistance for Public Housing residents by identifying and coordinating community resources to meet resident needs, including appropriate social service and community-based supports. Coordinates and promotes resident participation in on-site services.
Facilitates supported service linkages to community-based services and follows up on referrals to ensure resident service needs are adequately met. Initiates assessment surveys on an annual basis or as needed for residents. Conducts on-site educational, wellness, and recreation programs to promote resident health and well-being.
Collaboration and Teamwork (30%) - Essential
Builds and maintains knowledge of emerging best practices and community resources in assigned fields of expertise related to specific resident populations, which may include families with children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities. Participates in collaboratives with outside partners and other professional development opportunities related to assigned field of expertise.
Assists with the pilot of new practices, services, and programming under the direction of the Resident Services Supervisor. Partners closely with redevelopment and relocation teams to educate residents about relocation opportunities, opportunities, rights, and responsibilities, and ensure maximum re-occupancy of original residents in new and rehabilitated developments.
Record Maintenance (20%) - Essential
Maintains resident service files and records in accordance with City policies and federal requirements. Gathers data to assist with grant and compliance reporting for all local, state, and federal obligations and duties.
Other Duties as Assigned (5%) - Non-Essential
Performs all other duties and tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Work Experience:
Two (2) years of directly related experience
Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) or more years' experience social services program delivery in a professional or volunteer setting for low-income older adults, persons with disabilities, families, or other vulnerable populations.
Ability to speak and write in English and Spanish.
Understanding of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, strengths-based interventions, and other evidence-based practices.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Minimum Hiring Salary: $21.96
Dependent upon experience, qualifications, and successful completion of any applicable job training
Full Hourly Range: $21.96 - 37.88 USD

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Salary placement is typically between the minimum and mid-point of the salary range.
