Resident Services Assistant - Full-Time 3Rd Shift

This is a part-time opportunity, 20 hours a week, in our Independent Living. This position will consist of transportation to appointments, resident laundry help, and other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Resident Services Assistant is a person responsible for giving basic, non-contact care to the residents. He/she shall be prepared to give this care from prior experience, other training programs, and/or in-service education programs provided by the Care Center. He/she shall work under the direction of the Registered Nurse or the Licensed Practical and State Tested Nursing Assistants.

Essential Functions:

• Assist in transporting residents to and from meals and activities. Will not transfer residents to and from wheelchair.

• Pass ice and fresh water to all residents.

• Strip and make residents' beds.

• Pass clean linen to the residents as directed by the STNA's.

• Set up each dining room for each meal, making and passing coffee, tea, water, etc.

• Assist in passing trays and set-ups for the independent residents.

• Wash wheelchairs, gerichairs and over bed tables as directed by the Charge Nurse.

• Restock clean utility room with supplies as directed by the Charge Nurse.

• Clean drawers in resident rooms and keep personal items labeled.

• Keep resident rooms orderly and monitor to ensure call lights and fresh water are within reach of resident at all times.

• Read, sit and visit or write letters for the residents as requested by the resident.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school diploma or GED

• Responsible to the Charge Nurse for providing Resident Services within limits of job description by delegated tasks.

• Responsible for adhering to instructions issued by the Charge Nurse and following established Nursing Home routine.

• Responsible to the resident to respect their privacy, residents rights, dignity and confidentiality.
