Resident Service Coordinator

Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Resident Social Services Coordinator to support our senior and disabled residents by connecting them with essential services to age in place. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors and/or disabled individuals, with a strong ability to match services to their specific needs.

If so, we are looking for you to join our team as a Resident Social Services Coordinator (30 hours per week) at one of our HUD Section 8 / LIHTC affordable housing communities in West Haverstraw, NY!

COMPENSATION:

• $17.00 - $17.64 / hour

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING AS A RESIDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR

• Establish relationships with service organizations in your community and connect them to resident needs

• Educate residents and staff on available community resources such as case management, meals-on-wheels, transportation, etc.

• Provide assistance and advisement to residents on available services that promote wellness and self-reliance.

• Monitor delivery of resident services to ensure they are appropriate and timely.

• Establish relationships with and provide reporting to service providers as needed.

• Assist residents in creating informal support networks among themselves with family and friends.

• Coordinate educational events for resident benefit and engagement, as appropriate.

• Create volunteer support programs with service organizations in the community.

• Complete relevant education courses annually

Qualifications

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Required

• Experience with seniors/elderly and disability services, including a working knowledge of local service providers is required

• You are available to work 30 hours max Mon-Fri

• Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and achieve results for the elderly and disabled.

• You are committed to exceed expectations of those around you by providing exceptional service

• You are trustworthy and reliable to do the right thing - no matter what

• You welcome everyone and know the best ideas are born through diversity of thought and perspective

Preferred

• A degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Psychology, Public Health, Counseling, or a related field. Relevant work experience without a degree may also be considered.

• Training in aging processes, elder services, disability services, and federal and state entitlement programs.

• Knowledge of legal liability issues, substance abuse, and mental health issues among the elderly.
