Resident Engineer - Nysdot

SI Engineering, P.C. (SIE) is a full-service consulting engineering firm based in downtown Manhattan providing services in civil, structural, transportation engineering, bridge & facility inspection, construction management & inspection and lighting design. We are engaged in local community improvement projects to large, high-profile, multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects with a strong reputation of delivering a wide range of projects for our clients in the public sector. SIE is looking for a Resident Engineer with New York State Department of Transportation experience to join our firm on a project in the Bronx. The ideal candidate will have highway and bridge experience and have a strong familiarity with NYSDOT projects.  Responsibilities: 

• Monitor contractor's work. 

• Lead and conduct progress meetings 

• Manage direct reports including Inspectors and Office Engineer 

• Ensure the construction is as per plan and specifications 

• Manage daily logs, submittals, change orders, estimates, invoices 

• Ensure safety of the construction project 

Qualification & Skills:  

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering 

• Licensed Professional Engineer in New York 

• 5+ years of experience as a Resident Engineer 

• 15+ years of experience in NYSDOT projects including highways and bridges. 

• Experience with NYSDOT strongly preferred. 

• Excellent communication skills and work ethic 

• A demonstrated ability to administer all project general and technical data and reports to communicate verbally and in writing to all parties involved 

Expected salary range is $156,000 - $200,000 annually. Actual compensation will be dependent on the individual’s qualifications, skills, experience, and physical work location.
