Summary Description:

To enrich lives and promote resident wellness at the Loomis Communities through quality, person-centered services targeting social, emotional, cognitive, financial, physical and spiritual health throughout the continuum (IL, AL, NC).

Essential Functions:

Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program.

Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for, and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.

Plans, coordinates and assists to implement a monthly calendar of innovative recreational programs to meet the needs and interests of residents. Promotes personalized recreational opportunities by providing materials to residents and adapting activities as needed to ensure dignity and equal participation from all residents regardless of their abilities or preferences.

Collaborates with various departments to coordinate and implement campus-wide special events, including themed parties and seasonal events.

Forms, maintains and manages relationships with volunteers, entertainers and other service providers. Participates in interdepartmental leadership meetings, quality improvement meetings and resident council meetings, to ensure resident satisfaction and to continually improve quality of services through collaboration.

Completes all assessments and documentation with residents and family members as needed, assuring that Resident Engagement department promotes the individual needs, preferences and interests of residents using a person-centered approach.

Allocates funds appropriately for functions, entertainment, services and supplies. Works with the Director to purchases new equipment and supplies as needed by while demonstrating fiscal prudence.

Provides oversight and mentoring. Works collaboratively with interdepartmental co-worker to ensure service standards are met.

Assists in departmental training, huddles, events, and new team member onboarding. Ensures that proper scheduling and appropriate staffing levels are maintained. Provides coaching and performance feedback to Department Leader.

Qualifications

Preferred Education

A Bachelors degree in therapeutic recreation or a related social or human services field.

Preferred Experience

A minimum of 1 year of related experience.

License(s) Preferred)

CTRS certification.

Skills/Competencies

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of residents, family members and others.

Basic math skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing various units of measure for programming purposes and the purposes of managing a budget.

Ability to relate well to all residents, including the emotionally upset.

Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, volunteers and the public.

Knowledge of operation of audio visual equipment.

Ability to report to work regularly and promptly.

Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary.

Immunization Statement Governor Charles D. Baker announced that all long-term care facilities and all Assisted Living Residences must ensure that all personnel are vaccinated against COVID-19 and the influenza virus, unless such administration is medically detrimental to the individual's health, or vaccination is against the individual's religious beliefs.

All employees of The Loomis Communities must either receive the COVID-19 and Flu Vaccines or provide a waiver of declination. These vaccinations can only be declined for either religious beliefs or a medical contradiction to receiving the vaccine.

Additionally, during the pandemic, we reserve the right to test our employees for COVID-19. Tests may be given as needed or as required by DPH, EOEA, our medical doctor or epidemiologist. Employees must be willing to submit to a COVID-19 test, in order to be scheduled to work.

Focuses on person-centered program to aid the resident in wellness programming.</p><p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p><p>1.Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program. Complies with confidentiality requirements and residents' rights, complies with use of safety regulations, infection control, and standard precautions, and</p><p>complies with all CARF/CCAC guidelines and standards.</p><p>2.Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and</p><p>other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.</p><p>3.Assists the Resident Engagement Coordinators in developing, planning and implementing a variety of quality programs to meet the needs and interests of</p><p>residents across the continuum of care (NC, IL and AL).</p><p>4.Follows scheduled calendar of activities, preparing for and leading daily programs and documenting program attendance, to enhance resident wellness. Works cooperatively, and collaborates with, other staff, volunteers and service providers to ensure quality programming.</p><p>5.Invites, and safely transports, residents to and from activities. May be required to drive transport vehicles for off-campus programming.</p><p>6.Maintains the cleanliness and organization of program locations and storage areas on a daily basis, and decorates for holidays, events and seasonal themes as needed.</p><p>7.Respects the individuality of residents by providing materials to promote independent or alternative leisure involvement, and by adapting activities as needed to ensure participation from all residents regardless of abilities or preferences.</p><p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p><p>Preferred Education:</p><br><br><p>High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)</p><p>Preferred Experience:</p><br><br><p>One year of related experience or training</p><p>Licenses(Required/Preferred)</p><br><br><p>Valid Drivers License</p><p>Skills/Competencies:</p><p>1.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
