Sylvan Crossings at Westshire Village, a 32-bed CBRF nestled alongside Lake Mendota, is looking for an experienced, dedicated Resident Care Director/Administrator to help elevate the community and provide exceptional leadership.

The Resident Care Director/Administrator serves as the lead professional within the facility, working in tandem with the full-time RN, and managing the Assistant Resident Care Director and the caregiving staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong leadership skill set and a history of achieving excellence in compliance and resident satisfaction.

Resident Care Director/Administrator

Position Summary:

Direct residence operations in accordance with its policies and procedures, mission and philosophy. Lead and motivate employees in providing quality care and services to residents and maintain high level of customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

General Management

  • Adhere to and implement residence policies and procedures.

  • Assist in the development of the residences budget.

  • Operate the residence within the budget.

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as directed.

  • Maintain up-to-date and complete resident files.

  • Assume on-call responsibilities.

  • Make final decision on resident move-ins and move-outs based on the well-being of the resident an in accordance with the residence policies and procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.

  • Participate in internal audits and develop correction plans as needed.

Hiring, Supervising and Training

  • Recruit, hire and supervise all employees, and ensure adequate staffing.

  • Lead by example, encourage teamwork, promote the residences philosophy, and provide ongoing coaching to employees.

  • Motivate employees through recognition programs, training, and team building.

  • Conduct regular performance appraisals with employees.

  • Provide an open door to employees and address any employee concerns or grievances in a timely manner.

  • Maintain complete and up-to-date employee files.

  • Maintain a high level of employee satisfaction.

  • Ensure appropriate handling of on-the-job injuries as reported by employees.

  • Oversee and implement the training of all employees in accordance with residence policies and state and federal regulations.

  • Conduct monthly in-services as needed to ensure training is current and staff are aware of residence polices and changes.

  • Ensure proper documentation for all training.

Customer Services/Outreach

  • Oversee the safety and well-being of the residents in accordance with the residences philosophy and standards of care.

  • Represent the residence to the community, family members, and visitors and develop positive relations with all customers.

  • Establish and maintain an open-door policy and a high level of ongoing communication with residents and their families.

  • Contact the residents family when a change in services is needed. Lead and participate in resident/family conferences to review changes in services.

  • Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction.

  • Actively participate in providing service to residents.

  • Maintain a high level of occupancy and an active waiting list.

  • Assist with the marketing of the residence including developing relationships with local referral sources.

  • Participate in outside networking meetings and develop a strong base of community.

  • Maintains a professional demeanor when working with residents, families, and community members.

  • Responsible for giving tours and remains current in the knowledge of the residence for marketing purposes.

Maintenance/Environmental

  • Adheres to the general maintenance of the building to ensure a clean and odor-free living space for all residents.

  • Ensure building, equipment and furniture are free of repairs and any maintenance issue is addressed to corporate in a timely manner.

  • Maintains compliance of all state and federal regulations regarding all safety and environmental checks and inspections.

Physical Job Requirements

To fulfill job requirements, employee must be able to perform key physical task for extended periods of time. When supporting, lifting, or transferring residents, proper body mechanics and safety measures as prescribed by the residence must be used.

In a typical eight-hour day, employee will:

  • Stand/walk up to six hours a day

  • Sit up to six hours a day

  • Occasionally support up to 70 pounds

  • Occasionally life/carry up to 50 pounds

  • Frequently kneel, bend, and reach

  • Secure proper assistance for transferring and lifting of residents as needed

PAY RANGE: $12.00-$14.00 Based on Experience Position Summary: Coordinate the food service program, in keeping with nutritional guidelines, residence policies and food service budget. Order and prepare food, dining service, food service for special events and activities, maintain food inventory, and maintain regulatory compliance. Primary Responsibilities: Food Preparation and Dining Service * Prepare and cook food in accordance with nutritional guidelines, regulations, and residents individual prescribed diets and food preference. * Present food in an appetizing and attractive manner. * Assist in fostering residents independence with eating by providing adaptive equipment when needed. * Ensure that food is delivered on time and in a pleasant manner. * Visit with residents at each meal when available and ensure quality service. * Prepare food and coordinate food service for special event as requested. * Encourage residents to participate in the food service program and provide a forum for their input. Regularity Compliance and Sanitation * Ensure compliance with HACCP, local health department regulations and the residence policies and procedures. * Maintain a clean, organized and safe kitchen environment. * Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards. * Check water, food and storage temperatures as required. * Report all broken equipment to the Administrator in a timely manner to ensure the safety of the staff and residents. Documentation and Communication * Ensure the menu is posted daily and weekly menus are always posted in the kitchen/ dining room. * Attend mandatory trainings and in-services as required by state and federal regulations, and as directed by the Administrator. * Follow the set menu and if deviations are necessary, ensure all changes are noted on the menu. * Adhere to the weekly and monthly ordering budgets and limit smaller grocery trips as required.
