SUMMARY:

As a care partner, the resident assistant is responsible for assisting the resident with the activities of daily living. Provides home services and assistance with ADL's to support residents ability to live safely with dignity, independence and choice in a supportive person centered manner. Provides a home-like environment that encourages the optimum level of physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual activity. The Resident Assistant works independently, using sound judgment in the provision of personal and medical care. Must maintain a caring attitude towards residents at all times and be capable of good judgment in all situations. This position will support Assisted Living as well as Home Care and Independent Living.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services.

  • Interacts with residents by providing direct and supportive services for residents to promote independence and choice.

  • Encourages residents to meet their individual needs, to attend programs of their choice/interest and provides assistance to facilitate residents'' participation as needed.

  • Attends to the wellbeing of residents and includes residents in decision making regarding their care in accordance with a personalized plan of care/service plan.

  • Maintains and completes required documentation.

  • Provides clear, timely communication related to changes in health, emotion and behaviors to direct supervisor.

  • Meets educational, training and competency requirements on time including SAMMS.

  • Responds to emergency situations and provides basic first aid care when needed within the limits of training and the policies of the Loomis Communities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education:

  • High School Graduate

Required Experience:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide

Licenses (Required/Preferred)

  • Massachusetts Drivers License, CNA certificate, CPR Certified

Skills/Compentencies:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

  • Ability to relate well to all residents, including the emotionally upset.

  • Ability to deal effectively with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and the public.

  • Ability to report to work regularly and promptly.

  • Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary.

  • Ability to find coverage for personnel call outs when needed.

This position rotates job duties between our South Hadley and Amherst locations.

Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management Financial Services and Customer Relations, the Assistant Director of Financial Services and Customer Relations is responsible for Undergraduate Admissions Customer Service Team and oversees the walk-in counseling area, call center, and "counselor on call" program. The Assistant Director provides exemplary customer service and counseling in person and via phone and email. The Assistant Director also provides counseling and customer service support for the Financial Aid Office and Offices of Enrollment Management. This position requires superior customer service, communication, and organization skills. Essential Functions * Provide Admissions information to current and prospective students and families, University staff, and other parties. Act as subject matter expert in Admission application process, Admission requirements, Admission deadlines, and general information on individual schools, colleges, and majors. Counsel students and families, interpret students' needs, and resolve problems in-person, by phone, and by email. * Manage the Undergraduate Admissions call center, including staffing, training, scheduling, and productivity reports. * Recruit, hire, train, and supervise student staff working in Admissions customer service center. * Serve as Undergraduate Admissions "counselor on call" and coordinate support for Undergraduate Admissions customer service team and counselor on call program. * Represent Admissions customer service unit at team meetings, training sessions, and update sessions held by freshman, transfer, and international admissions teams. Act as liaison between Admissions units; deliver training and updates from other units to Admissions customer service unit. * Collaborate on Undergraduate Admissions marketing and media efforts to provide "student voice" for publications and marketing efforts. * Read first-year and transfer applications (domestic and international) to determine admissions eligibility by evaluating academic and non-academic credentials based on MBHE criteria, evaluating the differences among secondary schools, etc. * Make admission decisions on applicants who clearly meet university admission criteria and applicants who clearly do not meet admission criteria. Analyze, make recommendations, and participate in the decision-making process on candidates whose applications need further review. * Provide Financial Aid information to current and prospective students and families, University staff, and other parties. Act as subject matter expert in financial aid application process, scholarship application process, aid eligibility requirements, student loans and loan repayment, and student financial wellness. * Provide financial aid counseling in-person, by phone, and by email. * Supervise a team of staff and student employees in the Undergraduate Admissions customer service center. Other Functions * Use access to sensitive and/or not yet public university related information only in the performance of the responsibilities of position and exercise care to prevent unnecessary disclosure. * Perform other duties as assigned or required to meet Department, Executive Area/Division, and University goals and objectives.
