Employment Type: Part TimeAbout the Role We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Resident Advocate to provide personalized support and advocacy for the Sisters in our private convent home. This is not a nursing home or clinical care role. Instead, this role is about being a personal advocate, companion, and trusted support system for the Sisters, ensuring their daily needs are met with dignity, respect, and hospitality. Why Join Us? Advocate for the Sisters: Ensure they receive necessary support from their care provider, and other services. Communicate concerns and help coordinate non-clinical needs.
Assist with Daily Living Activities: Encourage and assist Sisters with meals, hydration, mail, phone calls, computer troubleshooting, and outings.
Engage in Hospitality & Companionship: Help the Sisters attend activities, religious services, and social engagements within the convent.
Support Household Needs: Light housekeeping (cleaning walkers, wheelchairs, and small kitchen areas), occasional laundry (linens and tablecloths), and maintaining a tidy living environment.
Promote Community & Well-being: Facilitate a warm, engaging environment by helping Sisters get outside, assisting with personal errands, and providing emotional support.
Respect & Uphold Convent Standards: This is a religious environment, and while staff do not need to be Catholic, they must be respectful of the Sisters’ way of life.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in elder care, home health, medical assistance, or a related field preferred (CNA, Med Tech, Home Health Aide, etc.).
Strong understanding of dementia care and end-of-life support.
Computer literacy (clocking in/out, emails, SharePoint communication logs).
A compassionate, service-oriented mindset with high standards of integrity, hospitality, and initiative.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and problem-solve without direct supervision.
Valid & clean driver’s license (Non-Negotiable) – occasional use of convent vehicles to support the Sisters.
Physical Requirements: Ability to push/pull/lift 25lbs without accommodation and stand for extended periods.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive pay: Starting at $17.50, depending on experience
Shift Differentials: +$2/hr for 2nd & 3rd shifts, +$3/hr weekends
