ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This position is responsible for human resources management, monitoring the operating budget and capital budgets as appropriate, and providing day-to-day administrative management to the Department of Medicine's residency program.

The position is responsible for translating the Hospital and Departmental missions, objectives, policies, and procedures into effective action for the areas described. Financial: Oversees the Medical Education operating budget (1664). Manages personnel, medical administration, house staff program funds, overnight on-call meal allowance, and other costs to budget. Manages variance analyses.

Identifies opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies. Manages CME budget. Develops and manages capital project budgets for the residency program as assigned.

Residency Program Management: Supports the residency program director in providing oversight to the entire residency application and recruitment process. Coordinatesinterview schedules, participates on selection/ranking committee(s), compiles rank order list, and verifies credentials of incoming residents.

Ensures compliance with rules and regulations of the residency match process. Coordinates all aspects of the orientation process for new residents to ensure compliance with McGaw and NMH rules and regulations pertaining to clinical rotations. Coordinates departmental orientation activities and ALCS certifications and re-certifications.

Works with McGaw to ensure proper processing of license applications, visas, and ECFMG certification. Manages resident education files and databases to ensure content integrity, consistency with accreditation standards, and report availability.

Primary responsibility for preparation for review by the residency review committee, the review board of the accrediting body for residency programs in medicine. This includes review of necessary documentation, site visit preparation, identifying and addressing potential problem areas and working with the program director and chairman to institute appropriate procedures.

Assists program director in meeting all ACGME / RRC requirements. (Maintains knowledge of ACGME requirements; coordinates internal review process and ensures that resources are provided to implement changes as a result of internal review; ensures quality and completion of rotation curriculum documents; supports program director in preparation of Program Information Form (PIF).). Manages evaluation process to ensure completion and proper documentation of resident and faculty evaluations. Assists program director in developing and implementing policies and procedures pertaining to residency education. Ensures completion of all GME related surveys (e.g., ACGME, AAMC, Frieda, etc.). Coordinates and proctors In-Training Examination.

Ensures full compliance with ACGME, McGaw, NMH, and DOM requirements and processes for graduating residents. Assists residents in obtaining paperwork for permanent licensure, USMLE Step 3, and fellowship match. Coordinates graduation ceremony, annual teaching awards, etc.

Maintains DOM Residency Program web pages. Oversees resident alumni communications and maintenance of accurate alumni data. Coordinates hospital generated administrative activities for the residency which are relevant to NMH mission and goals.

CME / Residency Conferences: Works with the program director, chief residents, and designated faculty members to develop, evaluate, and revise as necessary grand rounds series and other CME activities. Human Resources Management. Manages and oversees the responsibilities of the House staff Specialist and Administrative Secretary II for the residency program in the division of medical education. Responsible for recruitment, training, work assignment delegation, job descriptions, performance evaluations, salary recommendations, safety training, goals setting, and conducting staff meetings.

Provides coaching and professional development activities for the staff consistent with NMHs Best People goals and objectives. Specific to program and individual goals, develops and leads performance improvement activities as approved and chartered to positively impact relevant quality measures. Responsible for assuring that all data reporting requirements are met. AA/EOE

This is a Full Time position 80 hours every two weeks, benefit-eligible Position Highlights: Road Home Program: The Center for Veterans and their Families at Rush (ROAD HOME PROGRAM) is a clinical resource center dedicated to assisting and supporting current service members (Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard), veterans, and their families, with vital clinic services focused on PTSD, TBI counseling and therapies. ROAD HOME PROGRAM will provide those services in support and collaboration with existing veteran and service member organizations. The Practice Administrator exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values, and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures, including complying with customer service and performance standards. Position Responsibilities: Strategic Impact * Leads Department to achieve RUMC and RUMG goals and strategic priorities. * Provides input towards strategic and operational planning. * Identifies industry opportunities and threats and recommends strategies to address. * Oversees implementation of approved strategy. * Sets policies and procedures within Practice(s). * Collaborative relationship with providers regarding Practice operational issues. * Partner to Medical and Section Directors. * Consults with colleagues in other Practices and external colleagues for best practices, workflow, policy and process feedback. * Partner with Legal, Compliance, Marketing, patient services, HR, Vyridian, Rush Health, Medical Staff Office, etc. to achieve goals.
