The Associate Director of Residence Life provides leadership and direction to a dynamic team of professional and paraprofessional staff and students. Residence Life seeks candidates who can work independently, are extremely organized, are great at public speaking, motivate others, and manage projects and teams effectively. Ideal candidates can think outside the box and have great teamwork skills. Residence Life is a small but highly engaged department team. Our campus partners are supportive and excited to collaborate to create a dynamic student experience. There are opportunities to create new living/learning communities, build an RHA, and create a leadership program for Resident Assistants.
Our university student population is unique. We have a mix of traditional college-age students, non-traditional students, and veterans. We house not only undergraduate students but also graduate students, students with families, and faculty and staff.

Ability to problem solve
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of environmental impact on students and community and student development theories
Experience with supervision, crisis management, budgeting, and risk management
Experience with relational databases and computer operations
Five years progressive responsibility in a university residence life/housing program
Three years of supervisory experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in Higher Education or comparable academic discipline
Three years of supervisory experience
Five years of progressively responsible experience in organizational authority in a residence life/housing program
Position Details:
This is a full-time, exempt staff position with a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule, Grade 81, based on education and experience.
