Required Qualifications

Education:

Master's degree required in Student Personnel, Counseling or a closely related field

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a higher education setting with experience in:

  • Working with a diverse population (students, faculty, staff, parents, outside

  • community partners.

  • Effective verbal, presentation, written, and digital intercultural communication skills.

  • Advising/coaching skills.

  • Crisis management/conflict resolution.

  • Managing a budget.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, leadership, organizational, and facilitation skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of mental health and student well-being concerns

  • Must be willing to learn American Sign Language and about Deaf culture

The Center for Residence Life serves more than 6,000 residents residing in RIT Residence Halls, Greek free-standing houses, Special Interest Houses, RIT Inn, Global Village, and Apartments.
