Reserving new business

  • Work on tools, methods and processes linked to a new portfolio of PPI business

  • Liaise with the Finance and Actuarial function of our sister companies which front the business to explain the evolution of the result and the experience.

  • Adapt reserving processes and methodologies to keep up with the evolving French market.

Reserving existing business

  • Calculate reserves in a timely and accurate manner

  • Participate in the development and testing of new methodologies for calculating the technical reserves

  • Produce control cards in line with risk management requirements of internal control

  • Conduct experience surveys on mortality, morbidity, lapse etc.

  • Participate in the updating of reserving policies and measure the impact of the updated reserving policies

  • Review the Technical Accounts and Reinsurance accounts on an ongoing basis to ensure they are in line with the current Reserving Policy

  • Produce and check the Profit Shares calculated for our partners in line with our agreements

  • Provide necessary actuarial assumptions for preparation of Medium Term Plan/budget.

  • Responsible for checking the budget completed by the underwriting team

  • Assist in defining reporting requirements while setting up new partners / products

Prudential Control Reporting French Regulator

  • Assist in the production of Finaref ACPR reporting for regulatory purposes

  • Assist in the production of technical notes as necessary for the regulator


  • Testing model developments and parameterisation of the Prophet models for Solvency 2 calculations

  • Analyse results of models for reasonability including detailed checks for auditability

  • Assist in setting up the data flow processes to/from Prophet to meet modelling and Financial Reporting requirements

  • Assist in other projects helping to automate processes using Prophet model as required

  • Keep up to date model documentation, procedures and processes on work performed.

  • Answer questions and provide information to audit and external reviewers including Actuarial Function Holder.


  • Develop, update, implement and improve control processes related to the activity of the actuarial department

  • Participate in the writing of procedures

JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW The Manager, Management Reporting will play a critical role in providing insight to senior management and improve business performance by effectively analyzing financial and operational analytics, budgeting and forecasting, trend analysis, business insights, qualitative assessment of risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations based on advanced financial analysis This role will also support key finance functions with the tools needed to support the investment community. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES * Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to assigned areas of the business. * Serve as a strategic thought partner to the senior management team for financial operations of the business * Ensure key business performance risks, issues, and opportunities are highlighted to executive management. * Review the consolidated financial statements and analysis during close periods to ensure financial data accuracy. * Report on actual financial and operational performance against targets and provide variance analysis and guidance on future trends. * Manage and ensure timely reporting on financial and operational performance and provide variance analysis and guidance on future trends * Help develop and maintain the Company's key performance indicators. * Partner with FP&A to prepare robust and meaningful budgets and forecasts, integrated with core business strategy, targets, and processes. * Act as an advocate and role model for understanding revenue, cost and profitability drivers & liquidity and capital resource needs. * Drive processes to improve efficiencies and reduce time spent on low-value activities so that more time can be spent creating value for business partners and ultimately, shareholders. * Generate insight and drive outcomes by challenging assumptions, scoping and framing problems, and analyzing and delivering solutions. * Influence strong cross-functional communications and enhance efficiencies by leading teams through process improvement efforts. * Work closely with our business and technology partners to build and improve existing processes. Participate in the projects that will substantially enhance the end to end reporting process. * Acts as the primary liaison for Accounting, FP&A, External Reporting for the internal reporting process. * Partner closely with other business areas in the completion of financial reports including, but not limited to Treasury, Accounting, External Reporting, FP&A, and Investor Relations, as part of the reporting process. Educate information providers on management reporting requirements, as necessary. * Provide supporting materials for the team's regular updates to senior leadership and work cross-functionally on internal management reports. * Provide support to other Finance departments and functions, such as Accounting FP&A and External Reporting, during month end close and external audits. * Perform ad-hoc projects, analytics and provide recommendations as identified by management team. * Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion. JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
