We are seeking a talented Reservationist to join Dōgon. We are elated to partner with renowned Chef Kwame Onwuachi. He is returning to the nation's capital to bring a bold and imaginative restaurant concept to Salamander Washington DC in Spring 2024. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, exceptional organizational skills, and a friendly demeanor to provide guests with seamless reservation experiences. As the Reservationist, you will be responsible for managing reservations, coordinating guest seating, and ensuring that all guests receive personalized attention and service.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Answer incoming calls, emails, and online reservations promptly and courteously, assisting guests with reservation inquiries and requests.

  • Manage the reservation system effectively, accurately recording guest information, table preferences, and special requests.

  • Coordinate and confirm dining reservations, utilizing the reservation platform to optimize table allocations and seating arrangements.

  • Communicate with the front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service for each reservation. Maintain knowledge of restaurant layout, table configurations, and capacity to optimize seating arrangements and guest flow.

  • Provide personalized recommendations for seating options, special arrangements, and private dining experiences based on guest preferences.

  • Assist guests upon arrival, welcoming them to the restaurant, confirming reservation details, and escorting them to their tables.

  • Handle reservation changes, cancellations, and modifications efficiently and accurately, updating the system and notifying relevant parties.

  • Assist in coordinating special events, group reservations, and VIP guest arrangements as needed.

  • Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, and guest service at all times.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as a Reservationist or in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a fine dining restaurant or luxury hotel setting.

  • Proficiency in reservation management systems, such as OpenTable or Resy, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and hospitable demeanor.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members, guests, and colleagues to ensure a seamless guest experience.

  • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
