The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Researcher is responsible for assisting management in managing research projects, research associates, and analyzing and reporting research results. Techniques used include epidemiology, bio-statistical analysis, outcomes study design, and computer-based analytic tools.

This position has two (2) levels designed to provide progressively more responsible and independent work experiences. Progression between job levels is based on the demonstrated ability to successfully handle more progressively responsible assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Social Work or related field; OR equivalent training and experience.

  • Two (2) years of experience conducting research studies including statistical analyses.

Additional Qualifications for Researcher II: Meets all requirements of Researcher I in addition to the following:

  • Two (2) years of total experience developing research studies OR demonstrated proficiency as a Researcher I at SCF.

  • At least one (1) published manuscript.

Essential Duties of Position for all Levels: * Efficient and accurate reconciliation of high volume and/or complex bank accounts including maintenance of related spreadsheets and preparation of related journal entriesPreparation of monthly recurring journal entries and accruals * Research G/L related questions and prepare correcting and special request JE's as required and Accounting and analysis support for employees in other departments * Other duties including but not limited to preparing audit work papers as directed and providing backup support in absence of other G/L group members Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Demonstrated technical knowledge of accounting procedures and solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). * Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills. * Strong team player with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and positive, professional attitude. * Demonstrated organizational and time management skills. * Dependable with commitment to meeting accounting deadlines. Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines. * Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly keep confidential information secure and to work with minimal supervision. * Experience using Accounting software, Oracle preferred, intermediate to advanced Excel skills in creating and manipulating spreadsheets, and ability to operate 10-key by touch. * Experience in the preparation of journal entries. * Strong organizational and time management skills. * A strong desire to succeed is expected. * Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible general ledger accounting experience. * CPA experience may substitute for general ledger accounting experience and will be at the hiring manager's discretion based on size/location of the firm and the type of work done. * High School diploma or equivalent required. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field required. Physical Requirements: * Ability to perform sedentary work; * Physical effort may include stooping, kneeling, touching, feeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions; * Clarity of vision to see near, mid-range, and color; Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Working Conditions: * Requires flexibility in hours; * Weekend and holiday work may be required; * Occasional travel may be required; * Minimal privacy; working in an open office and/or cubical space under pleasant climatic conditions * Occasional high levels of stress The company and its subsidiaries operate in a 24/7 environment providing critical services to GCI business and may need to respond to public health and safety matters or other business emergencies. Due to business needs employees may be contacted outside of the normal business hours to respond to the immediate emergency. You will be requested to provide an emergency after hours contact numbers.
