Research Technology Lead, CDHAI

The Center for Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence (CDHAI) at Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Carey Business School invites applications for an exciting grant-funded opportunity, Research Technology Lead, CDHAI, for technologies and AI projects. The work of this position will require close collaboration with federal sponsors, academic researchers, and industry partners. The Research Technology Lead, CDHAI will lead in the design, implementation, and analysis of technologies supporting education and scientific studies and collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals. The position will report directly to the CDHAI Assistant Director.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead technical team on website, wiki, and other project needs.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data using a variety of methods, such as computer simulations and modeling.

  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure project goals are met.

  • Assist in designing, planning, and conducting scientific research projects.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of research findings.

  • Support the dissemination of research reports, manuscripts, and presentations for scientific conferences and publications.

  • Participate in scientific discussions and meetings.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Proficient in computer modeling software (e.g., Matlab, Python)

  • Web Development.

  • Familiarity with federal grant policies and procedures a plus but not required.

  • Knowledge of JavaScript and/or React.

  • Strong background in scientific research methods and techniques.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proficient in web development and simulation software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline. MPH or MS in relevant field preferred.

  • Two years of related experience.

  • Additional graduate level education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., computer science, informatics, biology, chemistry, physics)

  • Full Stack Development experience (minimum as intern)

  • Experience in the healthcare industry a plus but not required.

  • Experience with Programs and Programming Languages: MySQL, C/C++, SQL, R, Wolfram, Matlab, Pascal, Machine Learning.

Starting Salary Range: $40,900 - $71,600 Annually ($55,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Schedule: M-F 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, evenings and weekends as needed

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
