JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Gilmour Lab at the Pennsylvania State University is currently seeking a Research Technologist 1 in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. This is an NIH-funded project that focuses on characterizing mechanisms of transcription control using Drosophila as a model system.
Responsibilities will include:
Maintaining large Drosophila populations
Molecular analysis of normal and mutant Drosophila strains
Constructing plasmids, and isolating proteins.
In addition, the individual will serve as a lab manager and oversee the acquisition of supplies, repair of equipment, and maintenance of lab safety information.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree majoring in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Chemistry, or a related field plus 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
