A position is open for a full-time laboratory research technician at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine under the supervision of Professor Seok-Hyun (Andy) Yun. The candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of researchers to develop micro- or submicron-sized laser particles and their applications. While fluorescence is widely used, the broad emission of conventional fluorophores limits the degree of multiplexing. The laser particles developed in the Yun lab represents a potential paradigm shift for bio-imaging, single-cell assay, biomolecular assays, and high-parameter screens, enabling massive multiplexing (>10,000 barcodes).

The technician will assist postdocs in various experiments. The tasks may involve the fabrication, coating, and functionalization of micro- and submicron-particles and beads. Furthermore, the tasks may extend to preparing cell samples, imaging, and molecular assays. In addition to the research support, the technician is expected to take care of various tasks related to lab organization, compliance, and regulation.
