JOB SUMMARY
We seek a Research Technician to work in the DeBerardinis lab in Children's Research Institute (CRI) at UT Southwestern. The DeBerardinis lab investigates altered metabolism and its role in many diseases including inborn errors of metabolism and cancer in both mouse, and human research models. CRI is a highly collaborative environment focused on basic and translational biology at the interface of stem cells, cancer and metabolism.
Under supervision and/or in collaboration with lab members, this position will assist in the execution of several research projects in the lab. This is a great opportunity for those interested in applying for graduate school but need to gain experience/skills in animal models, genetics, metabolomics, biochemistry, tissue culture or molecular biology. A small amount of time will be spent maintaining lab equipment, managing inventory, and replenishing supplies. The ideal candidate will have effective written and oral communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's Degree With major coursework in field of assignment and no experience or
Two (2) years of college with emphasis in coursework in field of assignment or
High School Diploma or GED
No experience required with Bachelor's Degree or
2 years Of laboratory experience at level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with two (2) years of college or
4 years Of laboratory experience including two years at level of Laboratory Technical Assistant or equivalent with High School Graduation/GED
