GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Schneider Laboratory is excited to announce a compelling opportunity for an exceptionally motivated and impeccably organized wet lab research technician. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the multifaceted research endeavors of Dr. Jaime L. Schneider, M.D., Ph.D., focusing on cell biology and its application in lung cancer research.
Under the expert guidance of Dr. Schneider, your responsibilities will span a wide range of critical functions, each contributing to the advancement of our understanding of lung cancer and the development of potential treatments. As part of your role, you will engage in the following key activities: Tissue Culture, Proteomics Assays, Cell Viability Studies, Molecular Biology Techniques, Gene Expression Analysis, Metabolomics, Animal (mouse) Studies, Intratracheal Injections, Immunohistochemistry, and Imaging Analysis.
You will maintain a dynamic schedule, spending time at Harvard Medical School in wet lab space and at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) each week. This dual placement will provide you with a well-rounded research experience and expose you to diverse perspectives and methodologies. You will also actively participate in lab meetings in both groups, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares basic solutions and performs base-level procedures as assigned (i.e. - pipetting, cell and tissue culture, etc.)
Maintains laboratory notebook
Understands and applies basic scientific techniques
Conducts analysis of results and may begin interpretation of results
Sets up and prepares routine experiments as directed
Prepares lab reagents, chemicals, instruments and equipment
May perform independent literature searches
Assists with organizing materials for publication or presentation
Maintains and orders supplies
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Ability to work independently and as a team member
Good communication skills
Computer literacy
Working knowledge of clinical research protocols
Ability to perform multiple tasks independently
