About the Unit

The Human Tissue Resource Center (HTRC) is comprised of four integrated facilities (Biospecimen Bank, Histology, Digital Pathology and Laser Capture Microdissection) and provides investigators with a centralized infrastructure to optimize the efficiency and costs related to research involving biospecimens.

Responsible for all aspects of research projects and research facilities. Plans and conducts clinical and non-clinical research; facilitates and monitors daily activities of clinical trials or research projects. Directs engineering and technical support activities to develop and maintain tools and computational methods needed to gather and analyze data.

Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Writes articles, reports and manuscripts. Responsibilities

The job provides basic technical support activities related to scientific research projects. Complies with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.

  1. This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction., 2) Provides routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision., 3) Collects and enters data. Assists in analysis of data and with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents., 4) Complies with institution, state and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives, and mandates., 5) Performs other related work as needed.

Unit-specific Responsibilities

  1. Data entry: entering the information from histology billing sheets into OSRF billing system for invoice generation and payment collection.
  2. Organizing and refilling paper work from all studies.
  3. Pulling and re-filing archival slides and blocks from Department of Pathology.
  4. Assisting histo-technicians for various tasks including clinical trials.

  4. Able to work independently and as a member of a team.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

The Department of Radiology operates facilities in all of these locations to provide multidisciplinary care and education.
