Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Microbiology, Biology or related field in hand by June 2024. Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures, and using special methods for data collation and interpretation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Microbiology, Biology or related field. Prior research experience.

Brief Description of Duties:

Within defined test or analytical protocols, operate equipment, carry out test procedures, as well as collate and interpret data using special methods in support of a research project or program for Dr. Ketaki Ganti in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate professional competence in research activities.

The successful incumbent will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with an exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving.

Duties:

  • Conduct experiments: provide technical laboratory support, and/or animal handling to assist with experiments conducted.

  • Perform literature search: stay current in the field by reading and discussing the literature and experimental results with the supervisor and/or PI.

  • Collect data, record observations measurements, and prepare reports for review of supervisor and or PI.

  • Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Non-Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
