Job Description

We Are:

Research is integral to our mission at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and clinical trials help us discover better forms of patient care and treatment. Our extraordinary scientists and clinicians work together to drive innovation and tackle some of the greatest challenges of biomedical science. Memorial Sloan Kettering is seeking a Research Study Specialist (RSS) focusing on responsibilities related to the coordination of clinic at our Westchester facility.

Hours: Initial training 9 am 5 pm (Monday-Friday); after training (3-4 months), hours will be fluctuate depending on clinic scheduling, your 8-hour shift could vary between 8 am and 7 pm.

A Research Study Specialist (RSS) may be assigned to the following type of projects:

  • Clinic administration of research patients and clinician support

  • Preceptorship of research staff

  • Special projects (i.e. short-term studies, RSA training, etc)

You have:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 2 years clinical research experience at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) preferred

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to analyze situations, draw conclusions, make recommendations and convey information

  • The ability to multitask and use specialized knowledge and experience to handle complex work assignments

  • Interested in gaining exposure to medical terminology and the various disease types treated at MSKCC

  • Comfortable with or interested in working with and organizing large amounts of data

You Will:

  • Be responsible for coordinating and performing tasks in clinic

  • Provide clinic support by assisting with patient management on study

  • Liaise with staff from Pharmacy, Lab Medicine, Ambulatory Care, Nursing, etc.

  • Support and help ensure complete regulatory compliance and data collection in clinic

  • Coordinate meetings with the PIs and provide assistance to Research Study Assistants (RSA) as needed

  • Assist with training new staff members as needed

  • Assist with projects and provide cross-coverage to various research teams.

  • Ensure that all appropriate Institutional, State, and Federal regulations are followed throughout the research protocols

Job Description We Are The Pharmacy Department utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both inpatient and ambulatory care settings through a decentralized satellite pharmacy services model. The department has one of the most robust set of electronic clinical resources in the country and a dynamic medication safety program. Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over three million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has more than 400 employees with approximately 200 pharmacists servicing patients in 26 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties. Memorial Sloan Kettering is one of the only health systems in the country that provides live, onsite, accredited continuing education pharmacy courses to help keep your credentials up to date. The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site educational meetings. Due to expanded operation hours at MSK Westchester, the Pharmacy Department is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician. You will: * Perform technical functions related to medication ordering, receiving, storage, preparation, delivery and disposal * Compound hazardous and non-hazardous sterile products in a USP 797 clean room environment. You need: * HS Diploma/GED with 2+ years experience as a Pharmacy Technician, including hazardous and non-hazardous sterile compounding responsibilities. * Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred. * Omnicell experience is beneficial. Hours of work: * 37.5 hours per week.
