Colgate-Palmolive invites applicaons for a Post Doctoral Research Scienst (PDRS) posion based at our Piscataway, NJ locaon. This is a two year fixed term of at-will employment. The PDRS will parcipate in Cross-Category Research and Innovaon, document research results with technical reports, patent applicaons, and present technical findings to R&D community and management.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Manage and maintain Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), AFM- Raman and Light Microscopy Laboratory that houses various advanced light microscopes.
Develop and implement new microscopy methods, develop and manage fundamental microscopy research programs (both internal and external) that are relevant to Colgate R&D iniaves
Explore potenal addions to current instrumentaon for supporng business needs as necessary
Train and coach internal users (R&D sciensts and process engineers) on operaon of light microscopes and data interpretaon
Invesgate product efficacy, acve delivery and mode of acon by studying their effects on different ssues and substrates. Evaluate product morphology and stability to support formulaon development and opmizaon of manufacturing process
Present findings in clear and organized manner, mul-task several projects with ability to shi priority as needed for business crises or product launches
Document research results by technical reports, prepare and validate Standard Operaon Procedures, and present technical findings to R&D community and managements
Education and Qualifications:
Ph.D in microscopy/spectroscopy or related material science (chemistry, biochemistry physical or biological sciences) with 0-2 years of postdoctoral experience Required.
Expertise in atomic force microscopy (AFM) with prior AFM-Raman experience is preferred
Solid academic training with creave and strong problem-solving abilies
Experience involving consumer products is not required, but beneficial
Excellent oral, wrien and presentaon skills
